Today is a National Mathematics Day in India in honour of the mathematical genius, Srinivasa Ramanujan and it is his 134th Birth Anniversary.
He was born in 1887, died in 1920 at the age 32. He had solved many theorems during his school education assisted students and teachers but couldn’t get degree from Indian college as he used to fail in subjects other than mathematics. His note books of mathematics and papers published in mathematical journals were his strength. He had acquired Bachelor of Arts by research degree from Cambridge in 1916. He was elected as Fellow of the Royal Society in 1918. His health didn’t support him therefore he returned to India in 1919 and died of hepatic amoebiasis in 1920 at the age of 32.
He had proved himself a mathematical genius of his time.
