Are you the electricity or the appliance?
We are live because we are not dead. All our body parts are working and performing their acts. But what happens suddenly, when the death comes? The current goes off. The fire off. The spark disappears. What happens to the active body? What was running in it? Who has gone? Where?
God is like electricity and we are like electrical appliances. Till the appliance is in okay condition, it looks working. But as soon as the vital parts responsible for receiving the energy go off, the appliance go off too. That is called death. The death of the appliance is the death of the body. Nothing happen to the Electricity. Electricity remains but it's live display in that appliance go off.
अव्यक्तादीनि भूतानि व्यक्तमध्यानि भारत।
अव्यक्तनिधनान्येव तत्र का परिदेवना।।Geeta 2.28 (All created beings are unmanifest in their beginning, manifest in their interim state, and unmanifest again when they are annihilated. So what need is there for lamentation? No need.)
The material body appears, lives and disappears; the soul remains eternal.
We are the Soul, the Electricity. And our material body is the appliance to display the acts of the Electricity.
Look on Mother Earth. How many appliances lit up around? Can't we see the electricity around in the eyes of all creatures: humans, animals, birds, insects, etc, the display of the light of the Almighty. Billions of legs are walking, billions of minds are working.
The body was born therefore will die, जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्यु; the electricity was not born therefore it will remain: नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः।
न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः।।
Life is for Blissful Living, not for lamentation.
